U.S. News has done an extensive analysis on different diet plans being used currently.  After their analysis, they asked a nationally recognized panel of experts to scrutinize the results in order to construct nine sets of rankings for the best diets of 2016.  Based on those results, the diets for the weight loss ranking were then ranked by combining short-term and long-term weight loss rankings, equally weighting the two.  The following list are the top 10 weight loss plans based on those results:
