My Progress – Week 8
This week went quite a bit better than last week. It wasn’t perfect, by any means. But I did get my healthy habits started again and I’m back in ketosis. I’m losing poundage each day and I’m confident that next week will be even better than this week. I’m motivated again. So much so, that I’m not having any cravings to eat junk or anything like that. I don’t even really have to tell myself to eat clean, it’s just happening like it’s normal. That’s a fantastic change in mindset! I’m proud of this week.
Last week was so bad that my goals for this week were simply to get started again. To track my blood sugar, to track my eating, and to get to stepping again and get active. While it wasn’t a perfect week on those specific goals, there was definite progress.
Goal #1 – Diet – Start tracking my blood sugar, no matter what. Since I had completely stopped doing it, my goal was to start doing it again.
I didn’t do it everyday like I should have, but I did do it 4 out of 7 days. That means I only missed three and I did it more often than not. I’ll take it. Again, not perfect, but progress.
Goal #2 – Exercise – 100 Active Minutes/3 days – My exercise goal for the week was to achieve at least 100 active minutes on at least 3 days. I only achieved this on 1 day, so I did worse than last week on this one. Last week, I did get four active days. This week, not so much.
I have no excuses, I just didn’t do it. This week, I’ll do better.
Goal #3 – Diet – Macro Tracking – The goal was to track what I eat, no matter what. I did do that this week, 6 out of 7 days. That’s not bad.
I started strong on Monday with eating clean. Tuesday was a killer day at work with 10 meetings and tons of work which took Wednesday and Thursday to complete. Those were my three cheat days because after work, I simply didn’t feel like cooking a healthy meal. But by Friday, I was determined to get on track, and I did exactly that. So, I ate clean 3 out of 7 days this week, which wasn’t even part of the goal. Yay me!
Goal #4 – Measurements – This goal was to take measurements of my progress, even if I think it will be bad. I did that. And I thought it would be bad. It wasn’t. It was actually pretty good. I lost a very small fraction of inches in each area since last week. I’m totally good with that.
I expect next week will be even better.
What’s Next?
I did better this week. Honestly, it wasn’t hard to do better than last week. I just kind of gave up last week. I’m proud that I was able to get it in gear this week and get back on track. Good progress was made and I saw improvement on the scale and in inches.
My journey is long. It will take me a long time to get to where I need to be. But I am 27 pounds down and losing inches. I’ll take it, ya know? One step and one day at a time. That’s all I can do.
How was your week? Did you meet your goals this week? What are you currently trying?
Remember, forget skinny…train to be badass!
