My Progress – Week 5
This week went better. I got back on track with my diet, despite the stress. Also, I got off my butt and got active. Tracking happened as well!
Goal #1 – Diet – My blood sugar tracking could have gone better. I had not tracked my blood sugar at all since the 4th. I didn’t start tracking my blood sugar again until the 22nd. This goal can go better. I did very well on my diet this week, I just need to remember to check my blood sugar first thing in the morning.
I typically wake up hungry and want to drink a protein shake right away. If I grab one before I get to my desk, I’ve broken my fast before taking my blood sugar. In that case, I wouldn’t get an accurate reading of my fasting blood sugar. That’s the main problem for my tracking this one. I’ll work on it.
Goal #2 – Exercise – 30 Min. Cardio/4 days – My exercise goal for the week was to achieve at least 30 minutes of cardio or at least 100 active minutes at least 4 days. I only achieved this on 3 days, so I just barely missed this goal.
We’re not beating ourselves up here, just holding ourselves accountable. I missed it by one day. That’s okay. I will do better this week.
Goal #3 – Diet – Macro Tracking – I’ve usually done pretty well tracking what I eat. But when I’m cheating, I tend to stop tracking. That was the case this week too. I didn’t start tracking until I started eating clean.
Maybe it’s a denial thing. I know when I’m cheating, I don’t want to see how bad the numbers are. Maybe I should force myself to track those days so that I see how damaging they are. What do you think?
Goal #4 – Measurements – I added a goal to take measurements each week. Last week, I didn’t measure myself because I didn’t even try to be healthy last week.
This week I took my measurements. But I used a new tool. Hopefully my measurements will be more accurate going forward. At this point, I don’t really know if I’ve lost or gained itches. I’m not sure my measurements were accurate before. So we’ll track my progress on this starting from today.
My stress level hasn’t really gone down any. It’s going to be another stressful week or so. But I can do well and be healthy despite what stressors are pressing on me. Since July 16, 2021, I’ve lost 11.6 pounds. So I’m on the right track now. I just need to keep up the good work!
How was your week? Did you meet your goals this week? What are you currently trying?
